Dear WAMFT Members,

We are absolutely thrilled to officially introduce the keynote presenters for the 2026 WAMFT Annual Conference!

As we celebrate WAMFT's 50th Anniversary, we wanted keynote speakers who would not only inspire us but also challenge us to think more deeply about our work, our communities, and the future of systemic practice. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Dr. Diane Gehart and Kim Guerra, LMFT to this year's conference.

Together, these keynote presentations beautifully reflect this year's conference theme: "Roots for Connection: Deepening Systemic Practice in Changing Times"

One keynote explores new ways of understanding and practicing therapy. The other reminds us of the stories, histories, and relationships that shape who we are as clinicians and as people.

We cannot wait to experience these conversations together!

Keynote Presentation: The Therapy that Works Unifying Framework

An award-winning author, educator, TEDx speaker, and Professor Emerita, Dr. Diane Gehart has shaped the education of countless therapists through her groundbreaking books and collaborative work. In her keynote, she will introduce an emerging unifying framework that streamlines the field's theory and evidence base into a practical approach clinicians can use with virtually every client.

If you've ever wished there were a clearer, more integrated way to navigate the complexity of therapy, this keynote is for you!

Keynote Presentation: Weaving Intergenerational Stories

Therapist, author, and founder of Badass x Bonita, Kim Guerra brings together storytelling, justice, culture, and healing in ways that are both deeply personal and profoundly transformative.

Through stories of our ancestors, collective wisdom, and intergenerational healing, Kim will invite us to reconnect with our roots while imagining the futures we hope to create. Her keynote speaks beautifully to the heart of systemic therapy and reminds us that healing extends beyond individuals into families, communities, and generations.
