Session Description

According to the United States Census, as of 2021 there are over 1 million same-sex couple households in the U.S. The over 1 million same-sex households do not include same-sex couples that are not residing under the same roof or the many romantic relationships that can fall under the umbrella of a Queer romantic relationship. It is unknown how many Queer couples reside in the U.S. at any given time, but what is known is that the number is growing alongside the number of Queer identifying individuals who reside in the U.S. As Queer folx are twice as likely to seek out mental health services than their cisgender, heterosexual counterparts it is fair to assume that there is a high likelihood that a mental health clinician offering couple’s therapy will provide couple’s therapy to a Queer couple at some point of time in their career.
