Get to Know Billie Tyler

Billie Tyler, PhD, LMFT, is a Marriage and Family Therapist and Program Director of the new Marriage and Family Therapy program at City University of Seattle. Based in Spokane, Washington, Billie completed her master's degree at Capella University while working as a Research Coordinator at the University of Iowa. She then continued her education and completed her doctorate at National University. She has operated her private practice for over six years, focusing primarily on couples and working with individuals and families to strengthen their relationships. Her passion for strength-based approaches informs her client work and inspires her commitment to nurturing healthier systems within families and communities.

 

Billie has served in various leadership roles with the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT), including At-Large Board Member, Networking Event Coordinator, Spokane Networking Host, Conference Planning Chair, and now President. She also enjoys mentoring students as a former faculty member at Antioch University Seattle. Outside of her professional work, Billie is married with two daughters and can often be found supporting their love of dance in her spare time.
