About the Event

Session Description

Many therapeutic activities that engage clients in in-person therapy rooms are not obviously available via telehealth. Yet, there are creative, practical, and easy ways to intervene in teletherapy that go beyond talk therapy. This presentation will introduce attendees to creative systemic teletherapy interventions for a variety of topics and presenting problems that are grounded within foundational therapy theories/models and evidence-based practice. Some interventions are new, and others explain how to adapt in-person therapy interventions for telehealth. First, attendees will consider their own relationship with technology and the ways in which their own experience influences their work in online therapy. Then, the presenter will describe ways in which to creatively engage children, adolescents, and families in telehealth using a variety of therapeutic mediums, including the use of physical movement and online resources such as virtual whiteboards, virtual chess, online sand trays, an online dollhouse, online puppets, online mind body…
