Session Description
Avoiding and managing burnout is part of being a therapist. Doing so is made much more complex when you face the same oppressions and aggressions as your clients. Join Sar, a Non-binary Trans therapist, as she uses the situation with legislative trans-oppression, how it impacted her clients, and her own struggles around it to illustrate ways to stave off burnout in the midst of active oppression.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will recognize oppression as a factor in burnout and apply it to their own lives/practice.
- Participants will learn at least 2 strategies to manage burnout in the face of oppression and pick their favorite.
- Participants will learn at least 2 strategies to manage countertransference around issues of oppression and apply at least 1 to their practice.
