Get to Know Charity Francis Laughlin
Charity Francis Laughlin, LMFT, CST (MA, Seattle University), currently serves as Treasurer of the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT) for the 2026–2028 term and previously served as a Board Member-at-Large from 2020–2022. She is Director of Relational Therapy at a private group practice in Bellevue, Washington, where she specializes in working with intimate partnerships at the intersection of relationship and sexuality. In addition to her clinical work, she supports emerging MFT professionals as an AAMFT-approved supervisor, with a collaborative, strengths-based approach that emphasizes development of the person of the therapist. A prior career in finance allows her to bring experience in business operations and accounting to her WAMFT service. During her prior board term, she chaired the Legislative Committee, advancing advocacy efforts to strengthen and sustain the MFT profession in Washington State. She cares deeply about the economic and emotional sustainability of the profession and is committed to collaborative leadership that supports systemic change grounded in justice, liberation, and healing. Outside of her professional life, Charity enjoys time with loved ones, practicing yoga and dance, surfing, painting, and finding renewal by the ocean.
