Get to Know Bethany Suppes
Bethany Suppes, PhD, LMFT has been a member of AAMFT since 2012 and WAMFT since 2019. Shortly after, she joined the Ethics, Training, and Standards (ETS) committee, becoming its chair in 2023. She currently operates a private practice in Spokane and has work history in an agency, hospital (both inpatient and intensive outpatient), group practice, academia, and clinical directorship. Bethany's research interests include self-compassion, self-care, solution-focused and parts-based systemic therapies, and systemic supervision practices. Bethany recently published Family Systems Theory Simplified, a textbook that introduces the core concepts of family systems theory and how they appear in various models of therapy. Her practice specializes in family therapy, particularly rejoining after cut-offs between parents and their adult children, and healing from religious trauma. Outside of work, she enjoys games, puzzles, and time with her cats.
