Get to Know Bethany Suppes

Bethany Suppes, PhD, LMFT is an MFT committed to furthering the systemic therapy field and its reputation and credibility for making lifelong changes in people's lives. Dr. Suppes completed her MMFT in 2014, PhD in 2019, and became an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor in 2020. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including university and community clinics, case management in an agency, IOP group therapist, inpatient hospital intake, and group and independent private practices. She has also worked as a clinical director and assistant professor for a COAMFTE-accredited university in Spokane, WA. She has published multiple articles and made numerous presentations, predominantly focusing on therapist self-care, application of systemic compassion-focused therapy, IFS therapy, and MFT ethics. She most recently published the family systems theory textbook, Family Systems Theory Simplified, in 2022. Bethany has been a WAMFT member since moving to the PNW in 2019, joining the Ethics, Scholarship, and Awards committee shortly thereafter, and becoming a board member in 2023.
