Get to Know Jennifer Sampson

Jennifer Sampson, PhD, has served on the WAMFT Board of Directors since 2016. She is also Program Director of the Couples and Family Therapy Masters Program at Antioch University Seattle. Jennifer received her PhD in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota in 2013 and her MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University in 2008. She has been a licensed MFT in Washington state since 2011 and has been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor since 2014. She sees clients in her independent group practice in Tacoma, where she works with couples, individuals, and families. Jennifer’s research interests involve the influence of family and life experiences on hoarding disorder, as well as developing effective and ethical approaches to mandatory hoarding cleanouts; she focuses on this as an area of academic and clinical specialization. In 2012, she founded The Hoarding Project, a Tacoma-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at providing education, treatment, and research in the area of hoarding disorder.
