Hands holding flower budInvesting in Our MFT Community

Part of WAMFT’s mission is to support our MFT community.  Here are a few things we are doing to invest in the future of relational therapy in our state.

Scholarships: WAMFT has helped more than two dozen Student Members in the past seven years through our student scholarships.  These scholarships are partially funded through the generous donations of our members and friends.  Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement and school and community involvement.  Read how these scholarships support the career growth of our members >>

Grants: WAMFT invests in the MFT community through our grant program.  Grants are provided to organizations which enhance the profession and provide diverse services for practitioners.  By supporting other organizations, we take a systemic approach to the health of our profession.  Read how these grants have impacted our MFT community >>

Awards: WAMFT recognizes the stars of our profession and honors individuals and organizations which support families in our state through our awards program.  Awards are presented each December at our Holiday Party.  Mark your calendar for Dec. 5 in Seattle to celebrate our 2015 recipients. Building Connections: WAMFT collaborates with organizations throughout the state.  This includes working with Washington Mental Health Counselors Association, National Association of Social Workers, Washington Counseling Association, and others on legislative issues, joining with Washington Pastoral Counselors Association, Family Systems Therapists Northwest, and others to provide trainings, and working with DOH and other state entities to protect and enhance the profession.

WAMFT is proud to give back.  Let us know ways that your professional association can support your therapy community.  Contact us at wamft@wamft.org.
